Michigan Drivers Permit Information

To get your drivers license in  Michigan, you need to apply for an Operator's Drivers license.

Michigan Drivers License Requirements

18 years and under (Graduated Driver License - GDL)

  • Enhanced Graduated Driver License Level 2

    • Must be U.S. Citizen and resident of Michigan
    • Must not have any violations.
    • Must have parental or legal guardian approval.
  • Level 3 Full License 

    • Must be at least 17 years of age.
    • Must have held Level 2  License for a minimum of six (6) months.
  • Level 2 Intermediate License

    • Must be at least 16 years of age.
    • Must have held Level 1 Learner License
    • Driver Education Course
  • Level 1 Learner's License

    • Must be 14 years and 9 months of age.
    • Driver Education Course
    • Must have parental or legal guardian signature.
