Renewal Notice

You will receive a renewal notice via mail forty five (45) days before the expiration of your drivers license. The NY DMV will mail the renewal notice to the address on file. Note: It is always your responsibility to renew on time even though you did not receive a notice.

When To Renew

It’s best if you renew your driver’s license on time. If you would like to prepare before its expiration date, New York will allow you to renew your license one (1) year before it expires. if your license has been expired for more than two (2) years, your only option is to go in person to a new york dmv office. If you are interested in getting a new photo, you must go in person. It is against the law to drive with an expired license.

Expired License

If your license is currently expired, do not drive. You will be given a ticket for driving with an expired license. Driving without a valid license is against the law.
