What you should know
Identity protection is a primary focus for the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC), which is why a number of measures have been introduced to ensure that customer information is securely maintained. New Jersey’s Digital Driver’s Licenses and Non-Driver IDs have a number of sophisticated security features designed to prevent duplication or the possibility of alteration. Along with the use of advanced facial recognition technology and the MVC’s 6 Point Identification Program, the MVC is able to ensure that its customers are protected and that only those individuals who are legally entitled to obtain a driver’s license or ID may do so.

The 6 Point ID Verification Program is designed to protect against identity theft by ensuring that no one gets a license without proving who they are.
