Indiana Drivers License Information

To get your drivers license in Indiana, you need to go in person to a bmv license branch. You must have a license from Indiana within sixty (60) days of establishing residency.

Indiana Drivers License Requirements

18 years and under (You must be enrolled in school or have completed high school)

  • Regular Drivers License

    • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Probationary Driver's License

    • Younger than 18. You must be 16 or 17 years old.
    • You must have held a learner's permit (See Below)
  • Learner's Permit

    • Must be at least 16 . Or must be at least 15 and 1/2 years old and enroll in Driver Education Program (See Below)
  • Driver Education Program

    • Required under certain ages and circumstances.

18 years and over

  • Regular Drivers License
