How to Renew Your Hawaii Drivers License

You can renew your Hawaii Driver's license by using these methods
Your Hawaii driver's license will expire on your birthday. You can only renew your license up to 6 months prior to expiration.
There is no grace period. In other words your license will not be legal after it expires!

By Mail (Only if currently out of state)

You must do the following:

  • You need to send a request by mail indicating that you wish to Renew your Hawaii drivers license.
    • Some of the details which you need to include in your letter
      • Name, mailing address, social security number
  • Send the letter to the following address
    • Driver License Section

      Honolulu, Hawaii 96820-0340
  • You will receive a renewal packet with full instructions on how to renew your license.
