Hawaii Drivers License Information

To get your drivers license in Hawaii, you need to apply for a Class 3 license. 

Hawaii Drivers License Requirements

18 years and under

  • Class 3

    • You must be at least 17 years old.
    • If you are under 18, you must complete the Graduated Licensing Program (See Below)
  • Provisional License 

    • For drivers under 18.
  • Instruction Permit

    • You must be at least  15 and 1/2 years old.
  • Graduated Licensing Program

    • You must be between 15 and 1/2 years and 18 years of age.

17 years and over

  • Class 3

    • If you are under 18, you must complete the Graduated Licensing Program
