Idaho Drivers License Information

To get your drivers license in Idaho, you need to apply for a non-commerical / Class D license. You must have a license from Idaho within 90 days  of establishing residency.

You surrender any other Drivers License that you have previously held from any other State. This is called the One License Law

Idaho Drivers License Requirements

18 years and under (You must be enrolled in school or have completed high school)

  • Class D

    • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Graduated Driver's License Program

    • You must be 17 years old or less.
  • Instruction Permit

    • You must be at least 15 years old.
  • Driver Training

    • Under age 17. A driver training instruction permit is required in order to attend any public school or private driver training program

  • Class D
