Pennsylvania Drivers License Information

To get your drivers license in Pennsylvania, you need to apply for a noncommercial Class C drivers license. You must have a Pennsylvania license within sixty (60) days of establishing residency and you must give up any drivers license from another state. You must have your Pennsylvania license with you at all times.

Pennsylvania Drivers License Requirements

18 years and under 

  • Learner's Permit

    • A few of the requirements:
      • You must be at least 16 years old.
      • Parent or Legal Guardian signature.
      • You must keep this permit for at least six (6) months.
      • Sixty five (65) hours of driving experience.

  • Driver's License

    • You must have had a Pennsylvania Learner's Permit (see above) for at least six (6) months.

18 years and over

  • Learner's Permit

    • Valid for one (1) year.
  • Noncommercial  Class C Drivers License

    • Take and pass the Vision, Knowledge and Road Test.
