Nevada Drivers License Address Change Information

Possessing a license with an address that is not current is against the law. By law you have thirty (30) days to notify to the DMV of your new address. It's extremely important that you perform this change. Otherwise, all important notices about your license will be mailed to your old address. The important notices include things such as suspension issues or auto insurance notices. 

By Mail or Fax

Steps:

  1. Download and fill out the following Change of Address Notification By Mail form.
    • You'll be asked to enter your name, license number, date of birth, old and new mailing address
  2. If you cannot download the form listed above, please call the DMV (see below for phone number) and one will be sent to you by mail.
  3. Make payment for the fee. You must fill out and mail the following Payment Authorization form.
    • Cash is not allowed.
  4. Mail your application along with authorization form to the following address:

  5. If you wish to fax the application, please fax it to the following number: Fax (775) 684-4992 
     
  6. Your license will arrive in the mail in no more than ten (10) business days.

In Person

Steps:

  1. Locate and visit your closest nevada dmv office.
  2. Download and fill out the following driver license application. Make sure to check the top part that says "Information Change". 
  3. Bring money to pay the appropriate fee.
  4. You will receive your new drivers license with the new address by mail in ten (10) days.

 Online

This is the fastest and most convenient manner in which to update your address. 

Requirements to Change your Address Online

  • If updating the address on your NV commercial driver license, you must go in person
  • If updating the address on your NV driver authorization card, you must go in person
  •  

Steps:

  1. Visit the following Nevada DMV web page to get started.
  2. If you already have an account, simply enter your driver license number or ID number and password on the right hand side.
  3. If you do not have an account, click the button on the right that says Sign Up.
    • You'll need to enter your license number/ID number, date that your license or ID was issued to you, last 4 digits of SSN and your birth date.
  4. You will receive the new drivers license with the new address by mail in ten (10) days.

Cost for Nevada Drivers License Address Change

You have to pay a fee of $3.25 for an address change. Your new license will display your new updated address.
