New Jersey Drivers Permit Information

To get your drivers license in New Jersey, you need to apply for a Class D drivers license. You must have a New Jersey license within sixty (60) days of establishing residency. You must give up any other Drivers License that you have previously held from any other State.  

New Jersey Drivers License Requirements

21 years and under (Graduated Driver License - GDL)

  • Option 1 - The Early Bird Road

      • You must be between at least 16 years of age.
      • Parent or Legal guardian signature.
      • Must have new jersey drivers ed.
      • Must get a Probationary License

      • You must be between at least 17 years of age.
