Montana Drivers License Address Change Information

By law you have ten (10) days to notify to the Montana Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) of your new address. Keeping your mailing address current with the MVD is crucial because the state will notify you of important changes or updates to your driving license via the address on file. Failure to keep the address current could prevent you from receiving notices that affect your driving privileges.

It is also important to know that you also need notify to the Social Security Administration about the change, because you will be asked to fill a form with the Social Security Number and it has to be up to date. Simply visit the SSA website and make sure to provide them with the new information/documentation that shows your new address.
